This gorgeous necklace is perfect for any occasion!  From a sterling silver pomegranate pendant hang a smaller silver pomegranate and a piece if genuine ancient Roman glass on two silver cobra chains.  The pendant comes with a lovely sterling silver wire chain.  A wonderful gift, or treat yourself!

The pomegranate, one of the biblical seven species of the Land of Israel, has long been a popular motif in Jewish art.

This piece is adapted from the three pomegranates on a marble screen from a synagogue excavated at Hamat Gader.

The shards of genuine ancient Roman glass in this piece originate form fragments of glass vessels discovered in Israel, in the vicinity of the Mediterranean Sea shore.  The finely wrought glass bottles and jars, dated 1st - 6th century C.E., were created in ancient Israel by craftsmen working with a blow-pipe at the glass furnace.  Over the centuries these glass vessels gained additional charm from the iridescent coloring caused by the weathering of the glass.

This item comes with a certificate of authenticity of the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. Enclosed is a small description of its historical background in English and Hebrew.
