This is unlike any keychain you've ever had!  Beautiful and meaningful, it is entirely made from sterling silver, including the keyring itself.  It is based on an original amulet created in the Land of Israel or Syria in the 19th century.

This replica is incsribed at the center with the Hebrew letter "Heh", one of the names of G-d, surrounded by the acronym of Genesis 49:22, Jacob's blessing of Joseph. Biblical verses concerning Joseph are used as amuletic formulas against the evil eye.

In the corners are letters of the name of the angel "Taftafia". On the reverse are "Shaddai", one of the names of G-d, and "Matatron", the name of an angel, an acronym, and "Magen David". In the corners are the last letters in Genesis 1:1-5. The amulet has a round frame and a loop for hanging.

Amulets were intended to guard their owners' families and property from natural disasters, spells, and evil spirits.  Some were used to heal sickess and cure infertility; others were meant to shield the traveler from peril, to promote success and bounty, and even to secure the affection of friends and lovers.

This item comes with a certificate of authenticity of the Israel Museum, Jerusalem together with a description of its historical background in English and Hebrew.
