A lovely notebook decorated with a detail from the painting Boats in the Port of Collioure (1905) by French painter André Derain. In the summer of 1905, Derain’s friend Henri Matisse invited the artist to Collioure, a town on the Mediterranean coast near the Spanish border, where the two painted fishermen, boats, sunny beaches, and the sea.
The painting is part of the Merzbacher Collection, shown at the Israel Museum in the 2013-2014 exhibition Color Gone Wild.
