“Remember this day, on which you came out of Egypt…”

The undulating sand dunes of the Sinai Desert, which our forefathers crossed after being delivered from slavery, inspired the design of this impressive Seder plate. The receptacles for the ritual foods are bent by hand into a gentle wave-like shape and affixed to the metal surface. The bowl holding the egg, which is attached with a hidden magnet, keeps the egg from moving.

Artist and designer Laura Cowan immigrated to Israel in 1996. She works in her design studio and workshop in Neve Tzedek, Tel Aviv. Her innovative ideas make a refreshing contribution to the field of Judaica design, and her works are exhibited in galleries and museums in Israel and worldwide.
